Council of Fellows & Associates in Wales Conference IBERS, Gogerddan, Aberystwyth
The conference takes place at 2pm on Friday 26th January 2018. This conference seeks to continue to build on the success of last year’s conference and our ambition to become more visible and to help to shape and influence the future of agriculture. As part of this conference there will be a facilitated session in which we seek to capture your views on BREXIT ‘One Year On’, its challenges and opportunities which will be forwarded to Welsh Government and hopefully taken into account as part of future decision making. 2018 England Events: One Day Study Tour Wed. 6th June to Cheshire
The English Panel has agreed the Spring Visit in 2018 will be on Wed 6 June to Euston Hall Estate, Cheshire – home of the Duke of Westminster. Our host will be Mark Roach FRAgS – Estate Manager, Not only will we see the new 1800 impressive new Dairy Unit but also outstanding examples of environmental conservation. The day will include the AGM.

2018 England Events: Two Day Study Tour 10th & 11th July Perth/Stirling
The English Panel supported our Chairman Dr Alastair Leake’s suggestion that some changes are made to the programme of visits in 2018.
The Two Day Study tour will be moved to July in order to see Soft Fruit & Veg production & marketing “North of the Border” in the Perth/Stirling area, The dates being Tues/Wed 10/11 July. The proposal is for delegates to make their own way to Edinburgh – to be collected by coach at the Airport Hotel at 9.00 am on the 10th. (Other less expensive nearby hotels can be recommended) We will visit the most successful interesting business of Kettle Produce Ltd – hosted by Mr Pearson White, visit field veg harvesting/planting, then return to see grading & packing – including fully prepped lines. Lunch on site. Afternoon visit to the highly impressive business of the Mclaren family at Bank of Kinlock – soft fruit, cereals, potatoes & poultry. (JMS visited this July – outstanding!) Coach to Royal George Hotel Perth for dinner & overnight. Wed 11th – Coach to Tarrylaw Farm- part of the Culfargie Estate – 3750 ac – impressive organic business of Brian Kaye – know to our Chairman. Crops include – pots, carrots, wheat, beans & parsnips . Lamb & beef to Waitrose. Lunch locally, then to Internationally known Livestock Auction at Perth. Coach returns to Edinburgh.
Members will book their own accommodation at the Royal George – quoting a discount number – to be provided. Single B&B £70 Double B&B £100. The cost of the coach, 2 lunches, dinner (with wine) + share of hosting guests will be approx. £125 p hd. (No need to pay yet!) All I need to know at the stage is your intention to support the tour.
